Responding to Parkinson's ... with Rock Climbing?!

Inspiring and courageous rock climbers with Parkinson’s achieve extraordinary results with the help of a non-profit. As the reporter said, “There's no real understanding of how these people can do this, but you can certainly understand why.” According to a climber’s daughter, "My dad has a hard time walking across the room, but he can make it to the top of this giant wall." While there is no evidence climbing slows the progress of the disease, one of the climbers said, “Fine motor skills have kind of really suffered dramatically. I get my finger strength moving, which gets my fine motor skills – maybe not back, but kind of keeps that in motion." They wear a safety harness, and falling is part of the climb.
