Thank you Bryan for your impactful work bringing theatre and conversations about moral injury, suffering, betrayal in ways that audiences can hear & opening up space to share trauma.
As a survivor of several traumas including childhood sexual molestation, living with my Vietnam Veteran dad who had 5 suicide attempts (one I walked in on the aftermath at age 11) I have so much compassion for my father. I wonder if he had been able to participate in Theatre of War, might he still be alive.
I write also as a Narrative Therapy met metaphors Practitioner who uses the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi as we explore broken, pieces and the glue tha helps us mend. I've been working with survivors of violence, war, addiction, abuse, homelessness. It's been profound to witness the conversations of catharsis and of not feeling alone in the experience. Thank you again
