I would like to put this whole article and poem in the mailboxes of many of my neighbors. People in my neighborhood are forever cutting down gorgeous old trees, and they aren't rotten, either. They are messy, they are making too much shade (in this time of global warming, no less!), they drop stuff on cars, etc. I weep for these fallen friends. I have a poetry box in the front of my yard. I think I will put this poem in there.
