I would so love to participate in a clearing committee as you described as both a focus person and committee member. Ever since I read your story Parker, about using the committee to help you discern about becoming president of a University, it has stayed with me and resonated deeply. I love the deep trust at the foundation of this practice and the even deeper love. Thank you for sharing this so clearly and simply. And I also love what you wrote about how our access to our own wisdom can be blocked by inner 'stuff' and so we can't hear or discern clearly and that in turning outward to others we run the risk of being invaded or overwhelmed by well meaning friends....we need help but get tangled up in our own thinking and hesitate to reach out. What you wrote made it so simple to see and I found myself thinking 'oh, so that's what's happening at those times!'. I've found that journaling has been my clearness committee. It's worked well in many ways and has given me a safe space in which to speak and listen and for that I'm very grateful..........and yet there is a warmth, vulnerability and comfort that I feel when I read about the clearness committee that draws me in. It not only offers support in potential problem solving but I sense can help heal a return to belonging.
