I like this article. The article says we lose an estimated 36 billion tons of topsoil every year. That is an enormous amount of topsoil. My question is what is causing this great displacement of soil and where is it going?

Frank, I hear your concerns. I do not find this article to be hateful nor anti-love. I personally know people who were Peacefully protesting when riot police in full gear tear gassed them incited by the President who has also been encouraging brute force reaction upon PEACEFUL protestors. :( as plain clothed police officers were inciting violence in San Fran and LA and regular police officers have been using brute force against what were/are peaceful protestors. A friend of mine, 54 years old, white woman was peacefully protesting in DC, those near her were too and police in riot gear tear gassed her, knocked her to the ground and hit her with billy clubs, she was rescued by two black men who carried her to EMTs. This is NOT acceptable at all. Nor was the action of the President, using police in riot gear tear gas and rubber bullets to clear his path through what was a Peaceful group of protestors to go stand in front of a church he has never attended, for a photo op. His use of brute force hurt clergy in that church. This is where I live. and friends are experiencing this across the country at Peaceful protests.... important to know the facts. Some of the rioting and looting is actually perpetuated by whites who are instructed to drive in and incite violence (some of them white supremacists) many of the Peaceful protestors were/are trying to STOP THEM. there are so many layers to this... there are also soooo many peaceful protests, but those don't make headlines like the peaceful ones do. :(
