Thank you for your work and your book. Appreciate your insights and sharing your knowledge. Would like to offer this poem that was written in 1978 in a personal journal, "Are you greater than the sun/that shines on everyone: Black, Brown, Yellow, Red and White/the sun does not discriminate. (c) 1985. It became public in a citywide multimedia public service campaign in Boston to promote racial and ethnic harmony throughout the city of Boston. It inspired a public service announcement that aired on all three TV network affiliates. The campaign was so successful it was duplicated in NYC in 1986 and aired on CBS and NBC Network TV. Presently and updated version is airing on CBS Network TV. Hope you'll check it out and share: https: //www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1...
This poem also inspired a song and program, "Singing Equality across America and around the World." Anyone can register for the song and a simple lesson plan at worldunityinc.org. We all know that no child is born into the world with prejudice or bias, unfortunately it's learned from society and many times from the family, it's all part of the human conditioning. None of us are immune to prejudice and bias. I like to say to people, welcome to the human race. You can check out the song and see 800 children singing the song and performing the verse in sign language. Just go to worldunityinc.org and click the button 800 children. We hope you'll share. The children love the song. One student the song reminds us all that we are human, another said he is inspired every time he sings the song and I loved this comment by a student who said, one day the world will hear the song and it will stop discrimination.
Welcome an opportunity to speak to someone at Daily Good about the work World Unity Inc. has been doing for the past 26 years promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. I've been working as diversity and inclusion educator and trainer for over 40 years and have some insights to share with the community that can be healing and empowering.
