Yes, I did talk to that someone who had harmed me as a child. The realization of my needing to forgive him came to me over many years of traveling through the stormy countries of depression, anger, and trauma. There was no hope there, no life. Eventually I arrived in the land of forgiveness and built a home there. I invited the perpetrator into the space of forgiveness. I couldn’t make him go there or stay with me. He cried when I offered him comfort for his guilt. I knew I would slip out sometimes into the past but have always returned to my home in forgiveness. I am at peace. May all beings who have been hurt know forgiveness too.
