I am confused that the topic of deep data and big data should permeate into the realm about learning about oneself. Even as I seek to learn objectively data science to help me make sense of its purpose and value in our life-- I find, this article , while warning about Big Data and its pernicious uses, extolling the virtues of Deep Data is insidious. Spirituality and personal growth has become the domain of new age touts (even if credentials are from MIT) and it's sad this vocabulary and crass pedantic narrative spill over into areas of "learning about oneself". Objectifying and packaging people into gazing objects for self-realization is ridiculous. Ancient wisdom, tools and practices that are equally relevant today, perhaps even more so, (meditation, yoga, wisdom of our great Masters...) offer us so many ways to choose to get to know oneself. Using words like Presence, Innovation while constantly couching it in a discourse full of "me", "I", etc is deceptive. Let's go back to basics-- we have forgotten the whole, the unity and as long as we see objects and duality no matter how "deep", we are never going to learn more about onself.
