This article really spoke to me thank you. I suspect I'm raising a "gifted" child but align with a lot of the things you outlined. But, sometimes I feel guilty for not entering her in the race, the competition. But, I believe, and like you wrote we cannot control how their gifts will come to fruition. I trust that she will be amazing no matter what but I really appreciate hearing a former racer in the game telling what meant most to her looking back as an adult. It gives me the courage to continue especially when there is pressure from others that but not putting her in the competition she'll not "live up to her expectations." I believe that her being a fulfilled, happy, contributing member of our family and society is not something that will be a result of her being "gifted." Her being "gifted" will just make her inner world that much more sparkly and enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your story. I took a lot from it 😊
