Excuses, and excuses, and more excuses. You don't build resiliency by sitting around, continuing to pin the blame on other people. You have a history, but so what? Are you going to let that knock you around, shave off more of the remaining time you have on this planet? You can continue pinning the blame on this, on that, on this person, on that man, and it ain't gonna get you anywhere. So, instead of nitpicking, why don't you actually focus on what really matters? Is your history more important than what you could potentially achieve? Is your history more important than who you could develop as a person? If it REALLY matters enough to you, YOU make it happen.

Great article on Empathy. I once had an encounter with a doctor that should I say, lacked some compassion. Okay he lacked a great deal of compassion. Although the incident left me reeling for a while, I'm stronger because of it. We as human beings need to feel cared for and when that doesn't happen, there is a breakdown in society. The change must begin with each one of us, individually. This is how we can change the world.
