The text of this article is not showing up on mobile for me. The in mail version was good though. My real question is for the guys who never take this route. How do you actually not wake up one day and say "at any cost, I'm going to change the world around me by changing myself?" If everyone in the gang and all the junkies and all the hustlers and all the fools are going down together, what have you got to lose by shifting positions and spending your energy being a role model? I'm not saying it's easy. I'm asking why they are afraid to shift, so maybe we can grease the wheels and make it easier.
