My heart breaks for this elder orangutan. It sounds like her heart was broken too. I wish I could hug her. I can also appreciate not giving the baby to her. But oh if we would trust just a tiny more and understand. Such a fine line, I'm aware. And I agree with Joyce, I too wonder if this elder had a baby taken from her or lost a,baby or simply remembered the love. So many layers.
