Very nice article Wendell. It is indeed a great idea to begin the charity from home. Like you said, if we begin the process on individual level today, it will reflect in to something big. BUT, in my opinion it is too optimistic to assume that the governments will be forced to change policies based on our lifestyles. Regardless of which country you go to, there exists a vicious cycle of money feeding by big corporates to the lawmakers and congresses to cary out their personal interests. It is bunch of these corporations who are willing to destroy our beautiful present and future due to their greed, ignorance and arrogance. And like you said, majority of the people are oblivious to the fact that they, their lifestyle, decisions and needs are being manipulated. So unless the government bodies that we choose are wise enough to see the damage being done, are strong enough not to get swayed by the corruption, are not educated by blind doctrines, and are willing to go any extent to establish policies for the betterment of people (not their own country/economy but planet as one whole) it almost looks impossible to implement the ideal lifestyle amongst the present citizens of Earth. Oh, and before anything else we need to investigate what is this ideal lifestyle (that follows natural laws), globalise it and bring every government to agree to that. With the current world scenario, a big goodluck to the proponents of Natural Law!!
