We live in a world of duality, The yin and the yang. The swing of the pendulum. But I personally feel that the way we respond to our transgressors is an integral part of why we are here. Being a victim may teach us something about our weakness, standing up for ourselves may teach us something about our power. Forgiveness and compassion can help us relieve our own suffering, but I do not think it means we let the transgressor/the one who victimizes off the hook. We are hear to teach each other. Also we have been taught by the new age movement to think positive, and that will be enough, but any of us who have tried this know that it is not enough, bad things still happen.. It's not that I am attacking the concepts and ideals in the article, but I do not think it is what will lead to a better/peaceful./ and more loving world. As I said in the beginning this world is one of duality, the Yin and the yang... it is the bad, and it is the good, for a reason. We cannot keep forgiving the bad, we must act on it if we want change.
Karen I think that you are very good at articulating reality and understanding... I wish I could convey the message as well!

Saying "I don't know" would end a million completely idiotic arguments. The level of vitriol over economic theories that none of us understands and theological questions that are beyond answers is mind boggling.
