Good article. The older I get, the more I realize that we tackle so many problems in ways that are very short-sighted and often end up making the problem worse. War is a perfect example.
And those joining terrorist groups are doing so for the same reason addicts use drugs... isolated, disenfranchised, people who are reviled by the world (e.g. for being Muslim), who then attempt to connect with others in the same boat.
So the more we push against them, the more we increase their number.
Insanity at its best.... doing the same thing over and over, thinking this time the results will be different. How about we try loving? It's a lot harder to be cruel to people who have shown you love than it is to people who have shown you hate.
