This article is so inspiring. I've never thought of things from this angle... the empathy that can be faked and the empathy expressed after one has really gone through the issue (or had been involved or sees him/her-self as part of the issue) is really different and is the real reason that provides that drive to initiate and truly understand what we thought we knew before. This reminds me of what my teacher used to say: The only way to solve the problem is to see yourself as part of the problem.
