This kind of joyful, loving, creative and caring teacher hardly exists anymore–not because they're not out there, but because standardized testing and core curriculum models (etc.) have driven them out. I read recently in the Washington Post about a kindergarten class that was canceling their end-of-year program because the kids were behind on their work on "college and career readiness." (Google it. These kind of things can't be made up.) The schools are straining these teachers out so they can have more whose accountability can be measured. Sad but true. . .

Yes, agreed John, sort of, and to a point, however, what do we really know about the long term effects of cell phones on our bioelecticochemical selves, or that of anyone unfortunate enough to be living near a tower, etc? And what of the ever increasing waste and disposal of cell phones, etc?

We ARE living on a finite planet with finite resources, and lots of life besides humans. We do not own the place, and we sure can muck it up.

Where are our laws or policy functinioning within the rules and laws of diverse living systems, and what ARE we leaving behind, besides lifeless landfills and ever toxic concentrations of leftovers?

We either take care of the Air, Water, and soil, and have rules/policy/laws which preserve and protect them, or, we ARE toast.

Tech is fine and great, and, we ARE leaving a mess behind. Money cost/profit is not the real cost, and we need to factor in and value life cost. Are we building the soil, air and water, or, are we depleting and polluting them, and it is difficult to even go there, partly apples an oranges, chicken and scrambled omelet.
