This is my thought too. I've started reading a book that deals with mindfulness in relation to Borderline Personality Disorder and I feel like there idea of mindfulness is to turn me into a thoughtless zombie walking around so focused on the feeling of the moment that I'm not actually thinking anything.
I'd rather use mindfulness as living in the moment, not thinking about the past or the future.
How is that any different from what is discussed above? Those are all things that helpful you be aware of the present moment.

Interesting story about the Pale Blue Dot. Carl Sagan was a genius and died at age 62. He will never be forgotten.
