I wish more states would pass "Death with Dignity legislation, like my own state of Washington. Then again, I wish compassion alone would mandate it without the need for legislation to begin with.
I had lung cancer, and a lobectomy this past September. Knowing I had the options available allowed me to rest a little easier, knowing if things turned out badly i was still in charge.
They say it's gone, they got it all. But if they're wrong, I know that I will still be alright. I may not have always lived life on my terms, but I will die on them.
