Awesome, John. This lifts me up. I like the hand written card idea too. Don’t know yet that I can afford to try it, but surely in the future I will. I too have learned to be grateful despite being once homeless and losing everything I had lovingly accumulated over 50 years because I couldn’t pay my storage unit bill. I am beyond grateful to still have my two beloved dogs, my only children, who slept with me in a vacant lot and an inoperable car. I was so blessed to be given a vacant apartment that was in short sale, just a ‘roof‘, until it sold. maybe only 30 days. That was 22 months ago, I could not be more grateful and my life improves a bit more everyday. I don’t have a stove, or a Christmas ornament or more than one pair of shoes. But I have a place to stay, now with a bed, electricity, water and internet, and my sweet old dogs are with me. I also have tons of hope and gratitude. I remember once reading that ‘rock-bottom is an excellent foundation on which to build.’ :o)
