I read this and was overwhelmed but I also question the premise: that we are failing. The constant drumbeat about how humans are failing is used over and again to justify new theories and ideas. It is a kind of narcissism because it sees the world as being lesser but the writer knows better, and if we would just follow these prescriptions we would not fail. These proposals and observations are wonderful, but in fact we are making progress, and there is amazing leadershiip in women and men all over the world, in every area the author decries as failing. And these leaders have not read his book. There is in the world great compassion and courage and brilliance on all levels, but especially the grassroots, and it is there because people are tapping into their original nature, not because they are taking complex THeory U leadership courses. Theory U is full of kindness, and of course humans should lead from deep listening and from the heart, but please save us from MIT leadership courses.
