Excellent read which I am sharing in every possible place. I recognized myself in her words & at the same time, have also thought or spoken many of those words myself (mostly to my 12.5 yr old daughter.) I was recently formulating a way of talking to her about the need for discipline, in order to be creative & successful in life. We all want freedom, but freedom without self-discipline usually ends up with someone else being in charge & not living the life that one claims to want to live. I was so happy to read her words & know I'm not alone in my concerns. I was going to make today a non-electronic day (before reading this article) but my daughter went to a friend's for a sleep-over, so we will choose another day. I'd like to make it a weekly event...maybe it will turn into 2, if we are involved in projects that we are enjoying! Thank you for this "kick in the pants!"
