Thank you! BEAUTIFUL illustration our interconnectedness. Yes, the light of human connection is Powerful! I've witnessed it more times than I can begin to express. I share FREE HUGS wherever I travel. It is a beautiful way to connect one to another. There are so many powerful moments shared. One that touched my heart deeply was the homeless woman splayed out on the sidewalk in NYC, her shopping car with her possessions next to her. I held out my FREE HUGS sign and smiled at her asking if she would like a HUG. She looked at me with skepticism, "you'd hug me?" "Yes," I responded, "if you want one." Her skepticism changed to a smile and she opened her arms. I leaned down hugging her. "thank you, honey. I haven't been touched in nearly 20 years" What do you say to that? I hugged her closer and when she was ready to let go, we broke the embrace. I apologized I had no money to share, as a Storyteller, sometimes I am a little short on cash :). "Sweetie, that hug was worth more than any money you could have given to me." Indeed, connecting, smiling, looking one in the eye, acknowledging their presence is powerful and needed. These days when I see someone homeless, if I have no extra food with me or money to share, I look them in the eye, say hello smile and offer a HUG. WE always have a HUG to spare. HUG.
