Several greats, but I have to disagree with you on "Waiting For Superman." This is a thinly veiled promo for privitizing public schools by highlighting the upper crust of charter schools. Making a profit off kids at taxpayer expense is hardly "reinventing education." Here are two cutting edge resources you MISSED.
Anything by former teacher John Taylor Gatto. Try "Weapons of Mass Instruction: A Schoolteacher's Journey Through the Dark World of Compulsory Schooling." Or just look at this recent interview, http://ttfuture.org/authors...
And if you really want to crawl out of the box of "reinventing" and see the wide open fields of possibility, read the new book "Free Range Learning: How Homeschooling Changes Everything" by Laura Grace Weldon. This doesn't postulate a future of learning, it shows how millions are already educating as humanity has done throughout time, bringing forth a new generation of kids raised as authentic life long learners.
