What one's purpose in life is an interesting question, especially if you are not married with children. Now single at 82, I have two surviving siblings of eight, and dozens of nephews and nieces who are also married with any number of children. Thus as an elder I have intuitively become aware that my purpose at this stage of my life is to be a good example to others of love and kindness, of generosity and compassion. But isn't that the purpose of everyone who is member of the human race, at any age?
Other equally important purposes in life are making efforts to enhance the lives of others by pursuing the betterment of mankind through our own efforts. talents, knowledge, and a genuine desire to help others. I like to think that while looking after my health, next on the agenda are the purposes I just mentioned, which I then pursue as always without thinking.
