I relate to the open heart aspect of this piece. Starting in 2008 until 2020 I shared Free Hugs on the streets of the US, and in 29 other countries. An encounter with a homeless young man in 2009 resulted in me actively seeking out homeless people to offer hugs, listening and sharing a sandwich & firther conversation when I had any extra money. This was absolutely life altering. Every unhoused person has a name, a life story, wisdom and humanity if only we stop to see, connect and listen.♡
