I agree with the TedTalk, this is common sense but not commonly practiced. Even at my place of employment, where significant time and money has been spent to build empathy through emotional intelligence training, it is difficulty for people to change their patterns. I appreciate this approach. What's not to like about it? At least in theory. I connect to it from reading Bible scripture which states, "The greatest among you will be your servant." I am particularly intrigued by the concept of healing. To bring healing to work at a manufacturing facility is a wonderful pursuit. The area I need to grow in the most is persuasion. I'm pretty direct and, in my nature, I just want to get work done without much emotional connection to it. But the point is to think about the other people working with me.
