Thank you for this article. Over the past year I also started to focus on inviting friends over, even though my apartment wasn’t picture perfect. I’ve played the game ‘Where Should We Begin’ by Esther Perel at times, also a great game to connect. (I would take out cards that might be too sensitive for a particular group.) The article is a beautiful confirmation of what I have experienced and it encourages me to now invite people from my community I don’t know so well, but also have expressed the desire to connect.
