There are many ideas about anger and its ramifications to ponder here. I might add from my experience that, overall, while anger is indeed pointless, for a number of reasons, there is the telling example of those who WITNESS your anger. They very likely will feel themselves victims, even though they may have been the provocateurs of what caused your defensive outburst. When you realize this, not only will your resentment linger because of their actions in the first place, but you may also feel a lingering guilt for losing your self-control. That is why patience and forbearance are far, far better than anger and spite.

What an exceptional explanation of this missing piece of anger, this speaks to me like a huge ah-ha. Many thanks.
