My Vision of a Compassion Future

Last week, the Dalai Lama received the highest civilian award in the United States -- the Congressional Gold Medal -- with recognition by the President and members of both the Republican and Democratic party members. As the spiritual leader of the Tibetan Buddhists, the Dalai Lama has been a courageous and steadfast voice of support for fundamental human rights, particularly the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion and related freedoms of speech and association.
