"Walk around feeling like a leaf.
Know you could tumble any second.
Then decide what to do with your time." --Naomi Shihab Nye
The Art of Disappearing
The simple yet profound lines in the quote above are from American-Arab poet Naomi Nye's piece, "The Art of Disappearing". Bill Moyers from PBS was so moved by this poem that he carried a copy of it folded in his wallet after undergoing heart surgery. In this inspiring interview the two discuss everything from poetry as a form of conversation, what it means to 'breathe in two countries', and the unconditional love of grandmothers to the importance of truly embracing the "other" in a post-9/11 world.
