This I Believe
It was started in 1951. Each day, millions gathered by their radios to hear compelling essays from the likes of Eleanor Roosevelt, Jackie Robinson, Helen Keller and Harry Truman as well as corporate leaders, cab drivers, scientists and secretaries and people like Marty Mann, the first woman to join Alcoholics Anonymous. It was a radio show called 'This I Believe' where people shared their personal philosophies and core values that guide their daily lives. In 2005, NPR revived the project with today's personalities.
