A Family Globetrotting For A Better World
Worried about the future we leave behind for our children? So were this French couple who decided to do something about it. Laurent and Marie de Cherrisey packed their bags and their five kids, aged between 5 and 11, and set off on an around-the-world trip that took them to 14 countries, where they interacted with extraordinary people who testify, through the initiatives they have taken, that today's great social problems have nothing inevitable about them. Whether talking to an engineer providing solar energy to farmers in Brazil, an eye doctor giving sight to the poor in India or a young academic in Thailand helping fishermen replenish their seabed, this family was out to demonstrate a profound truth: change can only come about through the choices and determination of individuals -- of every person, each one unique and irreplaceable in the building of 'a better world for our children.' This account is in their own words.
