Three years after finishing the Boston Marathon in three hours and 19 minutes, Brian Fugere completed another 26-mile race Thursday, but this time, it took seven hours and 48 minutes. That's because the 47-year-old Danville man was pushing an IV pole dripping chemotherapy drugs into his body as he walked around and around the halls of Kaiser Walnut Creek's third-floor cancer ward this week, 144 laps in all, to raise funds for sarcoma research.
