It's Name Is Its Message

Its name is its message. In Hebrew, it is Neve Shalom. In Arabic, it is Wahat al-Salam. In English, it is The Oasis of Peace. Situated equidistant from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv-Jaffa, this cooperative village was founded in 1972 on 100 acres of leased land and today holds more than 45 families. Here Jewish and Palestinian families live side by side, sharing their gardens and their homes. Since both Hebrew and Arabic are taught in school, children at play call out to each other in both languages.
