4 Habits of Effective Communicators

The second practice is to show that you are listening -- not just with gestures, but in genuinely following along. Thirdly, they ask questions. Supercommunicators ask 10-20 more questions than others. And finally, they aim not to impress or wait for their turn to speak, but to truly understand.
